The use of the stabilization system in case of injuries and diseases of the spine

The RoSSPAK structure, designed to stabilize the spine, can be successfully applied in other situations, where there is a need for fixation of the spine in case of injuries, instability, or pathological fractures.

1. Female patient, 27 years old, admitted after an accidental fall from the height of 15 meters

Multiple vertebral compression fractures. The patient was admitted a month after the injury. The fractures began to knit, so the surgery was done in order to prevent further displacement of the vertebrae. It was not possible to spread the vertebrae completely due to the delay in seeking assistance.

The structure was removed a year after the injury after the final consolidation (knitting) of the vertebrae fractures


2. Female patient, 37 years. Diagnosis: Compression fracture of thoracic vertebra 11

An accidental fall from the height of four meters. A surgery was performed seven days after the injury. The patients spine has been fully straightened and assumed its normal anatomical form.

An X-ray shows that this is not the first break of thoracic vertebra 11, which did not prevent the patient from achieving a complete reclination (recovery) and stabilization.

Thus, our technique and our structures, developed in accordance with the principles of treatment, permit to solve the problem of the curvature and injuries of the spine and chest, without resorting to severe traumatic and risky additional surgical procedures. The structures can be used in those cases when, for one reason or another, there exists a necessity to stabilize the patients spine.
